To the Power of 3

Residential number two was a big success! Tallaght Community Arts led an action-packed weekend in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford for the second residential of our Shared Island collaborative project - To the Power of 3.

‘To the Power of 3’ is led by TCA and is a creative exchange between young people in Derry, Dublin and Wexford. Working alongside our project partners - Creative Places Mac Uíllíam, Creative Places Enniscorthy, and FUSE Arts - the participants spent the weekend workshopping and honing ideas, working towards the end goal of a final performance in September.

Act Up 2025

Huge congratulations to everyone who participated in Act Up Festival 2025. We are delighted with how the festival unfolded and, as always, in awe of the talent and dedication of the students in our local schools.

Now in its 15th year, Act Up Festival supports second level students to stage their own one act play. The students, act, direct, tech and produce all aspects of their play. This year's participating schools were Deansrath Community College, Tallaght Community School, St. Marks Community School, and Firhouse Educate Together. The 2025 Act Up Festival Adjudicator was writer and drama facilitator Seán Farrelly.

The second leg is currently underway in Rua Red Cafe, where the DoubleTAKE advocates' portraits and posters will be displayed prominently throughout the month of April. Rua Red cafe is open to the public from 9:30am-4pm Mon-Fri and 10am-3pm Sat.

We hope you'll drop by to share the story of our amazing DoubleTAKE advocates.

Spuddy Encounters

We are delighted to announce that the Creative Campus project for 2025 will be "Spuddy Encounters" - a collaborative art project exploring food traditions and the act of eating together. In particular, it will focus on examining and working with the potato, a versatile and humble vegetable that is a food staple in many cultures.

The team of artists for Creative Campus this year is Ala Buisir, who has been chosen as the curator, alongside Steph Saidha and Mollie Donegan, who have been chosen as the two Graduate Artists.

Creative Campus is an annual site-specific arts programme supporting emerging artists to create work that engages diverse audiences in South Dublin County. This initiative of Tallaght Community Arts is in partnership with the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) Access Programme, South Dublin County Council Arts Office and Noise Dublin.

The programme supports graduate artists to gain valuable experience in working in the heart of communities and to develop the skills needed for such projects.
