Tallaght Community Arts bids farewell to Tony Fegan.
Tony Fegan, the Director of Tallaght Community Arts, is hanging up his artistic hat after 16 years in the role. He successfully managed the continuity and growth of the organisation through difficult times, leaving it in a positive state with a good programme of projects and outreaches. TCA started from small beginnings in Virginia House in 1996. It now has an office in Rua Red and runs active projects such as the DoubleTake Studio and the Doors to Elsewhere Theatre Group. A spokesperson for the Board of Directors of TCA said,
“We are grateful for Tony’s remarkable contribution over the past 16 years. His dedication, passion, and commitment have been instrumental in shaping our organisation. His leadership has inspired countless artists, performers, and creatives to push boundaries and explore new horizons. Under his guidance, communities from Adamstown, Clondalkin, Tallaght, Rathfarnham and Bohernabreena have benefitted from participation and enjoyment of the live Arts. Tony champions diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility – this has helped many artists and audiences to create and see art in their own estate or town, most recently in the MacUilliam Estate in Brookfield, where a major Arts Council funded project is taking place. We wish Tony every success and fulfilment in his next chapter.”
